Corvera Golf – Full report March 2009!

March 19th, 2009

I have just returned from Corvera with the latest set of photos – and this latest update and I am starting to run out of superlatives! I am going to try to hold my enthusiasm in check, but after today’s visit it is going to be very difficult.

I will offer my apologies to everybody out there who thinks I have a motive or agenda for promoting Corvera Golf and Country Club so vigorously, particularly as we are a Real Estate and Property Management company, well I am very happy to say I do have an agenda, I absolutely love the place, it just gets better and better, so there you, guilty as charged!!

But seriously everybody, times are hard and the news about unemployment and the economy is not great, but for those people genuinely looking forward to completing their purchase on their property at Corvera, you are going to be very happy. In my opinion Corvera Golf and Country Club really does have the potential to be an amazing golf and country club resort, and quite possibly one of the premier golf resorts in Europe. I am really enjoying visiting Corvera and providing these updates, simply because it is starting to look like the resort we all hoped it would be.

In today’s set of photos I was lucky enough to get to the location of phase 3 and 4 for the very first time and WOW!! Phase 3, the “Mirto” style properties on the hill are in the highest part of the resort and it is just fantastic, the views were amazing and as reported in earlier updates, the sheer size of Corvera is overwhelming. You can see the whole resort from up at this point and not a single person will be disappointed. All of the infrastructure is in place for phase 3, all roads, street lighting, pavements, parking area’s, etc, there are viewing or “lookout” stations/area’s. I can imagine picnics and barbecues up there in the summer for sure, and what a great meeting place.

The golf course continues to take shape with special soil now spread over a number of the fairways. Bunkers have been shaped and cut out. The two lakes are filling up with water and they are so deep! Do not try to retrieve balls from here, you will need scuba equipment! Some of the tee boxes have been lined with newly planted trees – it will be like driving the ball through a tree lined avenue! All tee boxes are now marked out, the greens have now been prepared and ready for turfing, and the fairways will be seeded any time now.

As in previous updates, thousands of trees have been added along the roads, on the golf course, in public gardens and communal areas with thousands more outside waiting to be planted.

The security entrance is well under construction, one way in and one way out. The mail boxes shelter has been constructed, and is close to completion. Both of these new structures can be seen in the photos below.

The houses on the hill – the “Tilo” apartments close to the hotel location are now completed, with water in the swimming pool, playgrounds for the kids and fantastic communal gardens. The private gardens have been grassed and planted with lovely plants which are actually flowering now. The pergola’s in the parking area are all constructed, as they are in many other parts of the resort, and these will be ready for completion in the next week or two. They all look very nice, and I do envy the owners of these properties!

There are a number of playgrounds/swing parks spread around the resort and cycle tracks in abundance.

There are also a number of apartments very close to completion, with all car park area’s completed, and a dozen extra swimming pools since my last visit. I also viewed a couple of private swimming pools for the “front line” villa’s.

All looking very nice, and a massive amount of progress since my last visit just a few weeks ago. There are well over 500 men working on site, so progress being made daily! I also managed to have a stroll around the nature reserve area’s and again very nice, very peaceful with great scenery everywhere.

I would suggest the doubters and the doom merchants to go and have a look! I have to agree the delays have been hard to bear, and they will have contributed to some of the problems out there, but as far as the resort generally is concerned, it looks fantastic and I can not wait to go back up there for the next report, there may well be lots of empty or abandoned developments around Spain and the UK, Not Corvera, the place is bustling with activity all over the resort and work has even commenced on the sports area.

For the record, there were people at the sales office enquiring about purchasing property whilst I was there, very interesting, let us all hope that is a sign of things to come.

Thank you for all your comments and e-mails, please keep them coming, I will try to get your property in one of the pictures next time, I do hope you enjoy this latest update and the latest batch of photos.

Very best regards

Stuart Thomas – Calida International Properties

Everytime we get an update it brings it closer. Going out in April so hopefully will get a chance to explore some of the areas that you publish. I’m in Phase 3 near the entrance, which is still to start, but the wait will be worthwhile.
Keep the updates coming and thanks.

    Ditto Anita

Is that screened-off area on the hill the site of the proposed clubhouse/hotel?

    Hi Steve and Jane,

I am not sure which screened off area you refer to, but at the highest point on phase 3 there is a picnic area and viewing area, obviously the apartments and pools, etc will be op there. The area is fenced off for safety reasons as it really is quite high and there will be building commencing there soon.
The location for the hotel and clubhouse is just around the corner from the “Tilo” apartments on the hill overlooking the 18th green! Hope this helps?

    Stuart,

Was there going to be an equestrain center? Any news on this?

  9. Corvera Golf Infoon 22 Mar 2009 at 4:56 pm

There was going to be an equestrian centre and as far as we are aware that is still the plan, in all our dealings with Corvera we have not heard that they plan to drop any of the initial proposed facilities and amenities.
The equestrian centre was such a major selling point and I know these is a huge demand for it, any specific news and I will report it here.

Greedo, I spoke to Esther at Calidonia and she said the equestrain centre is still going ahead as planned.

Stuart, we have bought a property in block D58. We were last told that the completion date would be Nov/Dec this year, but I see from this page that completion of Phase 3 is june/jul next year. We aren’t in a hurry for the property but was wondering if you had any idea of a completion for this block?
